Today, March 10, 2025, is Commonwealth day. The Commonwealth of Nations includes 56 countries with 2.7 billion citizens. You can find a list of members here. Today is Sri Lanka’s national day, commemorating independence from the British in 1948. The following infographic gives a broad view of this country, located just southeast of India.
Quite a list with national days today. It’s the anniversary of victory in the 1979 revolution in Iran, commemoration of the coronation of the first emperor in Japan, and of the Lateran Treaty establishing Vatican City. Iran Japan Vatican City
Unfortunately I missed posting this yesterday. Yesterday was Waitangi Day in New Zealand, the commemoration of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
